Hello all,

I would like to configure Fusionpbx with and internal interface and external interface so I can connect the external interface to the public internet and the internal to my LAN. This config would allow me to make calls through the pbx. Does anyone have documentation on this set up?

If anyone has their pbx behind a firewall can you let me know what it is or suggest one that I won't have to reconfigure alg. Thanks

Hi Ricky,

for the required ports look at the freeswitch documentation: https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Firewall and make sure that any SIP-ALGs on the router are switched off. They cause a lot more headaches than they are worth.

I have not set up freeswitch on a 2 legged system, so can't give any 100% reliable advice on that. Using the sip-ip and rtp-ip settings found in the internal & external profiles, it should be possible to bind the profiles to the interfaces in the way you want. See https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Sofia.conf.xml#sip-ip , but there might be more to it.

I have used this dual homed in the past but have found it is more trouble than it is worth. Just leave it on a single interface and just get it natted properly for the outside world.

I will just give you one simple problem it will immediately cause.... The phones will not be able to get time from NTP server so you will have to install NTP or turn the box into a router. Its just messy and doesn't bring any gain.
