Auto Provision To Populate Devices

Greetings All!

The heading in the devices screen mentions that "They are added to the list manually or automatically when the device requests the provisioning information over HTTP/HTTPS."

Am I misunderstanding that a device should show up here when the phone attempts to connect for the first time?

If I manually add the mac I am able to provision device settings but I was hoping this list would populate itself - maybe wishful thinking.

If you turn on "auto_insert_enabled" in default settings, phone MAC addresses will populate automatically as phones request provisioning.

It isn't advisable to leave this setting on full time. Only use it when needed or eventually your datbase will get filled with spam/hack attempts.
