Call Center not recognizing agent status change

I am running FusionPBX 4.2.4 and have setup a call center, it doesn't seem to recognize when I change the status of the agent from "avaiable" to "logged out" or vise versa. I have tried to use the *22 and *23 codes too with no luck. I have noticed though that if i change the status in the portal (only in the portal) I can hit either start or restart on the the call center and it will then recognize the changes. Has anyone had this issue before and know how to make the agent status change recognize instantly?
