Does anyone have recommendations for SIP client phones: (Grandstream, Yealink, ....) ? Specific models that work well with FSPBX. Thanks.

I have hundreds of Yealink phones some as old as 10 years, they are very reliable and easy to program, I have moved almost 200 phones away from asterisk servers and connected to FSpbx, they work great with no issues. Most of them are T5 & T4 series and some T28's, I recently installed 16 wifi cordless phones and they also work great.

Thank you. Do the default templates with FSPBX/FusionPBX work well ? or do you need to configure them yourself?

You need to setup each domain with templates to meet your configuration needs, if you are new to sip phone programming I suggest you just configure the phones from there gui and not use provisioning, once they are configured and working well you can always start playing with the provisioning files and test.
