No reason why not, its been in since 2013. I think most of us use a caller id prefix though instead.
 
Yeah so do I. That doesn't work when forwarding to an external source like a UK mobile does it.

What would be the best way to implement something like this?
 
You'd probably have to inject it in whatever handles callcenter these days, probably a lua script, have a nosey around in /usr/share/freeswitch/scripts
