BLF Subscriptions

I am new to Fusionpbx coming from freepbx, when I create a BLF button for a extension it works except for when that extension has turned on server side DND, it only shows red while the phone is accessing the server to turn it on or off then it goes back to green.
Is there a setting somewhere i need to change.
