Fusion Domain Criteria

Does a domain in FusionPBX need to be an internet domain? For example, does it have to be in the format of 'my.testdomain.com' or does a domain name 'my test domain' work?

Also, is there a need to create a DNS entry every time?

Are these Fusion domains linked to the phone provisioning URL?

Domains in Fusionpbx/Freeswitch do not have to be internet routable but it makes things a little more complicated to setup if they are not.

For endpoint registration , you would have to configure the "outbound proxy" to point to either the server IP or a valid dns name.

By default, fusionpbx filters provision requests fo the matching domain name for the client, but changing the default setting "http_domain_filter" to false will allow any IP/name that points to the server to be used.
