There appears to be no way to allow VVX users to modify their own contacts. Polycom seems to expect/demand that the local contacts are uploaded to FPBX. I'm assuming that this is impossible. So, when the VVX re-downloads the files, it removes any changes the user might have made to their local contact directory (including adding contacts, assigning speed dials).

Has anyone found a workaround for this?

The work around is to have the users add in their local contacts in Fusionpbx

The workaround is actually to point the Polycom to a master configuration file outside of fusionpbx. This allows you to specify FPBX for the configuration files.

To restore the contact functionality on Polycom phones that FPBX breaks, in the master configuration file you can point the contact directory to a ftp or http server.
