SOLVED Pulling call back from external fwd before external VM kicks in

Want to make sure I am not going crazy:

External DID > Time Condition > Extension that fowards to a external DID cell phone (via call forward)

I want to keep control of the call and not let it get to the external cell phones voicemail, so it goes to Fusions VM, I thought I could do this with voicemail enabled and a call timeout set appropriately low, however it does not work. so then I tested with follow me enabled, single external destination and timeout set appropriately low, but same thing - it rings and rings and then hits the external cell phone voicemail not fusions.

what am I missing here ?

There is a setting to keep the voicemail from answering on the other side in ring groups and follow me. I don't remember what it's called in FusionPBX. In FS PBX, we renamed it to make its purpose easier to understand. In our system, it's called Enable Answer Confirmation
