Apologies is there is a term for this and I am unaware. Sometimes my cell data is so bad I cant make outgoing calls via groundwire, but I still want the call to come from my pbx external number, is there a way to setup a dial plan with a pin# so I can call my pbx via a standard cell line, then get a dial tone in fusion and redial - is this a thing ?

There is a dial plan under dial plan manager called "disa" you can enable for such functionality

bingo, cheers @ad5ou that's exactly what I am looking for. I tried enabling that in the dial plan, but I cant dial a feature code from my IVR as an external caller, feature codes only work from registered extensions right ? as I am going to Dial my own pbx from a cell number and come in as an external caller, then I want to redial in fusion going outbound so I can make a call from my pbx when I have bad data cant cant register via groundwire for example.

Set the disa dial plan to "destination=true" and it should allow you to add it to an IVR.

last question, its passing on the caller ID from my cell phone on the outgoing call from fusion, is it possible to override that in the disa dialplan ?

set effective_caller_id_number to what you want in the outbound route, or elsewhere in your dial plan

got it working, turns out it would not work unless I set both the caller id name & number variables - not sure if that's a limitation of my trunk provider or not.

cheers @ad5ou
