Superuser required for PostgreSQL

I am going to install the fusionPBX on a new box with the database on a separate box.

When I run through the install.sh, I found that it give the ID fusionpbx and freeswitch both SUPERUSER privileges.

I am wondering whether that is required, any advise would be much appreciated.
