Did you ever figure this out? Just got a couple Fanvil phones to test with and didn't realize the newer phones aren't listed in FusionPBX.

I gave it my best shot using a combination of exporting a factory reset X4U, and then exporting the XML config once again when it had been auto provisioned with the X4 template, which does mostly work - then using beyond compare to see the differences and filling in the variable names - but no dice, I am trying to backwards engineer a new template with a basic understanding of how this works.

challenges using just the X4 template I have found are:
- changing the default http user/pass
- suppressing the language selection / vlan info on factory reset
- setting line keys in the keys section, i.e. all 3 line keys for same ext to manage multiple calls

sure there are lots more things..

Notice the force provision in fusion has no affect with Fanvil handsets either, quite a bit to go with these guys, handsets seam very nice and they fill the gap when a user wants lots of BLF keys but not a huge $$ expansion module

cant see this being too high on the priority list for mark unless he is being compensated from fanvil for his time..?

I have all the fanvil phones working on auto prov on our setup. Let me know if you still have issues.

thanks!

I revisited this to see how the new templates from fusion were working with the X4U and X6U. I found with the X4U template seems to work well however it also stopped my test handset from making calls. if I switch between the X4U and X4 template, X4 works fine, X4U cant make outgoing calls - incoming works fine. Also with the X4U voice mail is not set up right by default. its missing the MWInumber setting.

how much did you test the handsets after auto-provisioning, as I still see a lot of bugs

really really want to use the fanvil handsets for a new client but the amount of time I spend troubleshooting issues when yealink just works, its hard to justify

Here is a link to our current production templates for Fanvil.

There is a V1 for X4U and X210 if your running V1 firmware. We are having issues running the v2.2.11 and 2.2.12 firmware on nonstandard ports.

Let me know how you go with them.

now that is interesting @screwloose thank you very much for sharing that - your config fix's all issues from what I can see on initial testing. out of the box it sip register failed on the X4U as I had UDP set for the line in fusion, I changed it to TCP and it worked - so there is a little bug there, will see if I can find the cause unless you know about that ?

cant get past that language selection on factory reset huh? I contacted fanvil support and they said you cant bypass that..

I will continue testing,

I had a scan through and saw lines for firmware updates, did you even get that working !?!

We only run TCP on fanvil phones. Helps with Nat issues.
Yes I have the firmware updates working but they need some extra files to be created. I can send them to you.

Where are you located?

If you find NAT issues with UDP then TCP it is! appreciate any advice I can get, been testing these phones for a while and I really want to start deploying them but just not there yet with fusion, your template seems to sort that!

Yes please, would be good to be able to push firmware. I am in Canada

did you get XML directory/phone book working also ?

I haven't used the XML phone book. But I did set one phone onsite to be the main address book and the others read from it.

oh yeah, did not think about doing that, good idea

I also see your default dial tone is for Aus, easy find that one on the handset - any other settings you defaulted for your region?

Check the link above for the provision folder. Put it in /var/www/fusionpbx/app/provision after you have edited the files to download what firmware you want.
