LAN/Local IP Address in Status > Registration <SOLVED>

Check if you have any of the NAT helper stuff enabled on the one and not the other? Then again, I just looked a customer who I know uses fanvils. Some phones show the LAN ip, others don't. Same location but different models and firmware versions............

LAN/Local IP Address in Status > Registration <SOLVED>

Mine is all over the show, always has been though. Some customers show public and private, others show only public, again others will on some phones both, on other phones not. Sometimes it will be the same model phone with different results. Fanvils typically have never shown the private IP...

How do others get customers to actually read the manual or do anything themselves

Yes - for some we do exactly that but for many others that won't work because of different requirements. Each customer is different of course and we try and keep it as simple as possible. We have some who use the feature codes, but call forwarding is seldom done on an extension level for most of...

How do others get customers to actually read the manual or do anything themselves

Good call - and we actually used to do that - but typically customers don't read their emails either :-) and we stopped this. Maybe we just have very difficult and lazy ones. You reminded me of this though now and what would actually work better is to extract the email addresses of those who...

How do others get customers to actually read the manual or do anything themselves

I agree with doing it ourselves to a large extent to avoid silly mistakes such as call forwarding loops. And indeed, once the initial setup is done, not much happens anymore. BUT - and this is the killer for us - Business hours should be done by customers. When a public holiday comes up...

How do others get customers to actually read the manual or do anything themselves

We have played with the idea (and tested) of charging for this but have found it's the quickest way of losing a customer- they simply won't pay for it or pack up and go. It really should be charged for, I agree and maybe we will just build it into the price of the PBX but that's not easily done...

How do others get customers to actually read the manual or do anything themselves

We often battle to get customers to do anything themselves. Of course one of the reasons for choosing FSPBX was an easy to understand customer interface. But we are finding so much resistance. "I don't have time to read a manual - just tell me what to do, or do it for me" is the refrain. There...

Call groups listed on extension page

Maybe I have not understood BLFs for what they are. I have only ever understood them to show that someone is engaged, nor for any other purpose. A quick google shows me that it can also be used to show someone else's phone is ringing and you can then use it to pick up the call. But that aside -...

Call groups listed on extension page

It does work fine without using call groups - but for bigger customers that is often not suitable. We don't do it via BLFs - users just dial *8 Customers often have multiple branches - let's use one as an example who have 17 restaurants. A call comes in to restaurant A, and at the same time...

Call confirm on call forward or call forward in ring group

We have the diversion header working on it, but it doesn't have the correct number listed in the header. Will play some more with this to see if we can make it work as it would be the ideal way of doing it. This diversion header requirement is a real pain but we don't have a choice - calls to...

Call groups listed on extension page

Will do. A report will be fine. I am surprised it's a rarely used feature though - how do others deal with this then? Probably one of the first things a new customer asks us is "how do we pick up a call that rings at another extension?". I myself am not much in favour of it, but rather use ring...

Extension stats export only exports the first page

Fantastic will upgrade this weekend. Thanks!

Call groups listed on extension page

When looking at the full extension listing of a domain, it is not shown which extension belongs to which call group, if any. The export also does not reflect this. This means that when a customer wants to know "please tell me which extensions are currently in which call group" they (read WE :-)...

Call confirm on call forward or call forward in ring group

Hi Would it be very tricky to add the option "confirm call" to the ring group call forward, and have a failover option to go to another call forward? It's of course available as part of the ring group when you just set an external number there but we cannot use that because it is not treated...

Extension stats export only exports the first page

The export function works fine, but there is no option to "select all pages" and then export. There is also no pagination option so that one could select more on a page. Additionally, if you jump to page 2, and click export, it actually exports page 1 again. V1.9.4 so if any changes there...

    Caller id issue: SOLVED

I agree this has always been mind boggling. End users really just want thing - a tick box with "allow all, allow local, allow internal" only. I am sure that making that work under the hood is tricky because outbound routes are not standard. We for example have 2 routes for international - one...

Three upstream FreeSWITCH PRs that can cut CPU, bandwidth, and recording storage

The one has always had about 1800 end points. We are moving those from fusion to FSPBX now so it's less. FSPBX has about 800 end points now and going strong. We never have to reboot the server or restart FS. The only time we did recently was because of upgrading FS but other than that it had run...

Three upstream FreeSWITCH PRs that can cut CPU, bandwidth, and recording storage

@ja133 I have a box that has been running for 742 days and another one for 148 days currently. No sign of any cpu spikes? Is this something specific to your set up or a known problem?

APIBAN - does anyone use it?

Hi - using non standard sip ports - I wish we could. We have too many phones out there to go that route anymore. Thousands of phones that do not autoprovision - different makes, models, soft phones, etc etc. So that's not an option unfortunately. So we have to find ways of reducing the number of...

APIBAN - does anyone use it?

I can only see upsides and it's apparently really lightweight so at this point I am intending to try it out. But will see if anyone comes with concerns or bad experiences for a bit.
