Automatic Extension assignment for new users

I've just recently gotten LDAP to work on my FusionPBX however it would be nice if new LDAP users would automatically get an extension in a defined range.

Does anyone have an idea how I could do that?

Probably going to require a lot of tinkering, there's nothing out of the box to do so.

I think you would need to heavily edit: /var/www/fusionpbx/core/authentication/resources/classes/plugins/ldap.php to include all of the steps required to create an extension. This would require maintaining your own fork, which isn't recommended though.

There is a REST API for members that can be used to create extensions and other features, that might at least speed up onboarding when you add users to the LDAP server.
