Never used them, but the vast majority of services will be fine. There's nothing particularly special about FreeSwitch on modern architectures, historically you did have to think a lot more about latency back in ye olde Pentium days. You could always run '
SIPp' against your instance to get a rough idea of the load it will take. Probably best to get the go ahead from Contabo before doing this, occasionally they have dim views against stress testing.
Some things to check:
- No port shenanigans with port 5060.
- How easy it is to backup and restore.
- Are you on a NAT address or a truly public unicast address. (Not a killer, I use AWS and that's all NAT. You just have to muck with the variables)
