Copying DEFAULT SETTINGS to another domain and get error

Hi there...trying to setup multiple DEFAULT SETTINGS our main domain will take effect unless a specific domain has modified settings.
I've COPIED the DEFAULTS and specified the domain. It seems to do it but then I get an INVALID TOKEN error at the top of the screen.

Any idea where this is coming from and how it can be rectified?

I've also gone to the domain and added settings to be overridden and saved them.

When I go to the domain and look at settings I still see the DEFAULT SETTINGS from the main domain. I must be doing something wrong here?
