Hi FusionPBX Community!

FusionPBX is undeniably one of the most powerful and robust platforms for managing FreeSWITCH. However, when handing over PBX management to end-users, non-technical clients, or staff members, the native administration interface can sometimes feel overly complex or daunting for everyday operations.

To solve this, I’ve been working on a standalone, highly simplified Customer Portal & Management Interface designed to sit directly on top of FusionPBX with 100% native compatibility.

The goal is to bridge the gap between technical VoIP engineering and a clean, self-service end-user experience.

✨ Key Business & Functional Highlights

  • User-Friendly & Non-Technical Friendly:
    • No complex VoIP jargon or raw Expressions: Operations like creating outbound routes, assigning DIDs, or managing extensions use intuitive fields and automated formatting behind the scenes.
    • Live Status at a Glance: Real-time visibility of extension registration status, connected device IP addresses, model info, and active trunks without navigating deep technical menus.
    • Streamlined PBX Operations: Simplified management of Extensions, Inbound/Outbound Routes, Ring Groups, IVRs, and Gateways.
  • 100% Native Compatibility & Zero Interference:
    • Operates seamlessly alongside your existing FusionPBX deployment without breaking existing databases, XML structures, or core configurations.
    • Native multi-tenancy support—isolated environments per domain/tenant.
  • Ultra-Simple Deployment (Single Cross-Platform Binary):
    • No complex dependencies, web server reconfiguration, or heavy runtime environments required.
    • Delivered as a single, lightweight cross-platform executable (Linux, Windows, macOS) that connects directly to your existing setup in minutes.

Future Roadmap & Licensing Concept

I am currently evaluating the interest in releasing this portal as a commercial/licensed solution for ITSPs, System Integrators, and PBX Resellers.

The envisioned model is a very affordable per-tenant subscription fee, allowing providers to white-label or deploy a modern self-service portal for their clients while keeping their main FusionPBX admin panel strictly for internal engineering staff.

I Would Love Your Feedback!

Before moving forward with the release, I’d really appreciate your thoughts:

  1. Client Management: Would offering a simplified, modern portal to your end-users help reduce support tickets and streamline daily operations for your team?
  2. Licensing Model: How does a small, scalable per-tenant fee structure sound for your business model?
  3. Deployment: Is a standalone, zero-dependency binary an appealing deployment method for your infrastructure?
If you’d be interested in testing an early preview or following the project, feel free to reply here or send me a direct message!

Best regards,

Umberto

It doesn't do it for me at all. Why?

It looks like something I could probably put together with AI if I wanted it anyway
I'm not installing any third party binary onto a PBX that I don't have visibility of, except perhaps those that come from @markjcrane himself.
This forums has existed for the last 10 years+ and is very hard to miss when you google anything fusionpbx yet despite that, you are a new member so you are not a trusted member of our community.
So, sorry, a big no from me.

Thank you for your reply and for your interest.
I have been a member for a few years, even though I haven't contributed directly until now. I have greatly benefited from the community's experience over the years and have been using FusionPBX for a long time with great satisfaction. However, I often find clients asking for a simpler way to manage the PBX, so I set out to create this new interface to streamline the entire process—from installation to management—while maintaining full compatibility with the original system. I thought sharing the project would be a welcome initiative and might even lead to suggestions or contributions. In any case, thank you, and please feel free to reach out if you would like more information. Best regards, Umberto.
