forward to external number

I am trying to call forward an extension to an external number. When I click on call forward all I put the number to forward to. Call comes into fusionpbx and finds the extension and the invite show up from : calling@called_number. Fusionpbx tries to dial out as calling@forwarded_number and fusionpbx does not allow that. How can I change it to send from field to called_number@forwareded_number.

user1(123-456-7890) dials 333-444-555 which rings ext 1001. 1001 is forwarded to 777-888-9999. I need the call going to 777-888-9999 show up as coming from 333-444-555.

I have already changed the from field in the gateway to true and still having the same issue. Call goes out as the calling number.

I'm not sure if i have this straight, but i'll try.
you want your call flow to be "caller>pbx>forward" with the caller id of the forwarded call to be the number of the pbx, Do i have that right?
You can try setting the caller id fields of the ext in the pbx. it sounds to me like the carrier allows caller id passthrough which should let this work.

Or maybe i have the call flow confused? let me know.
