I looked around a little but haven't seen a post on this yet - may have missed it though.

Is there a way to include the number a customer called on inbound caller id?

For example, a client has multiple numbers that point to the same ring group but when customers call, they want to know which number they dialed when the call shows up on caller id.

You can stick something in Caller ID Name Prefix. That's usually the easiest way for the Inbound Destinations.

Would you be able to clarify a little more on that? I'm guessing that would be a line on the inbound route?

When it hits the phone, it will usually look like: 'Foobar Widgets Ltd#0205551234' showing the prefix and the caller's number. Adjust to your liking, and real estate on the phone's display.

So that changes what displays, but how would I change how it displays? Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but if a customer calls in on that number, how would I get that to display on my caller ID?

So for example, if a customer's number is 555-555-5555 and they call 444-444-4444 (my inbound DID), my phone would ring and the caller id on my phone would display 555-555-5555 (customer's number), but it wouldn't display 444-444-4444 (my inbound number they called). How could I get 444-444-4444 to display on inbound caller id?

If I understand correctly, you just want to know what number the person called. As explained earlier, use the CID prefix and give it a specific name for that particular number. So 5555555555 is called you can put Line 1 or Primary or Secondary whatever you want to identify what number they are calling.

It prefixes the string onto the caller ID. What you choose to prefix is up to you.

Ah - I see now. Should have tested it out before asking for more clarification. I was thinking something else had to be enabled once you entered that text but turns out it adds it automatically.

Thank y'all for your help!
