Reliable Faxing?

Has anyone got faxing to be reliable? I have tried so much, different carriers, etc and I cannot get faxes to go through reliably. Usually they will eventually go through after 4-5 attempts but that's just really frustrating to sit there and wait and watch it.

Any suggestion on how to get this to work better?

I get best results by forcing the fax machine to no greater than 14.4kbps (9.6k baud even better). However, some of the more 'modern' machines don't allow this to be set manually. Anything over 14.4 with VoIP will have issues with passthrough. Even with T.38 store and forward, I've seen some issues when machines are trying 33.6 or superG. I've found reducing the rate reduces issues to a more manageable level. Still won't be perfect, but 90-95% is a lot better than 50%.
