Routing calls to Voicemail from IVR's

Has anyone worked out how to route a call to a voicemail without playing the voicemail message?

So you just want to press X and then hear the beep? You could just create an empty 1 second recording maybe, but I think a "Please leave your message after the tone" after pressing the IVR option is the best

You can just send it to voicemail but pass int eh variables, skip_instructions=true and skip_greeting=true

A migrating FreePBX user struggling with this, any help appreciated -- specifically:

If in an IVR or Ring Group for that matter setting the Exit or Timeout from the dropdowns to specify a voicemail box - then hit the black arrow to switch to the FreeSwitch application command ... how do I add the variable settings suggested?

i.e. if I am looking at a transfer to voicemail (e.g. transfer:*99123 XML x.x.x.x) how do I add the variables to hear the voicemail beep rather than the extension #, etc?
