Is there anyone out there currently using SMS for any of your numbers?

I believe the lead developer recommends Flowroute which I have had for years. I understand now that all of my numbers with them are SMS enabled. Would like to know if anyone's got that working with FusionPBX.

That module is awesome, it opens the door to use it not only with flowroute but with any HTTP enabled gateway with some patching. However, you will need more than that to manage chatplans. I was doing the SMS for FusionPBX, but nobody has been interested in sponsoring the development. Currently, I have a little app that fits my needs. No more.

Once we set this up, where do the SMS messages to? Can they be forwarded to a cell phone number?

Are you talking about the flowroute mod or the SMS App?

If you mean SMS app, then currently no there is not a way to forward them to a cell phone. They forward to yealink, bria, etc endpoints.

Okay, I got the SMS package installed.
https://github.com/fusionpbx/fusionpbx-apps/tree/master/sms

however when I get to step 7 I get the following error. Update > App Defaults
Fatal error: Call to undefined method database::save() in /var/www/fusionpbx/app/sms/app_defaults.php on line 214

I am 50% of the way there, however. I am able to receive SMS with Flowroute. But I can not send them. I am using Groundwire App on my Android phone. There are telling me in the chat room that SMS only works on 4.3 of FusionPBX and not 4.2.2, but I thought with some tweeking I can get it to work?

Any ideas?

Yes, it'll work with 4.2.2 _IF_ you change the database save function back to the 4.2 version for app upgrade. Look @ other apps for 4.2 and just change app_defualts to save in the same manner.

This would be the first time I have done that. Could you point me in the right direction??

I got them saved to the database, but no luck getting SMS to send. I can receive, however.

Okay, So I managed to get SMS to work with 4.2.2 but the messages are placing %20 in the spaces like it was HTML. So for example, if I text "How are you doing?" The recipient gets "How%20are%20you%20doing?"

My provider is flowroute. Any idea how to fix this, friends?

Hmm. That might need to be looked at on the code side. What kind of endpoint are you sending it to?

I have been testing several apps on my Android phone. Zoiper, Grandstream, Groudwire. The endpoint is a cell phone.
