Google recently updated their security settings so that any third-party devices that use Google have to use multi-factor logins and won't be able to login any more using just a password (non-secure device access is automatically off now). This went into affect on May 30. We have our SMTP set up to user Google, but due to this change, it no longer works.

The only way around it according to Google is to use multi-factor logins or to login to your Google account directly. I'm guessing logging into your Google account directly is out of the question, but is there a way to set up multi-factor logins to their SMTP server?

Any one else found a way around this?

Enable 2FA in google account security settings and then generate app specific password

And that's confirmed to work with FusionPBX? I wasn't sure if you could generate an app specific password for Fusion. We have a workaround using SMTP2GO for now, but may need to use Google again in the future.
