Hello,
Yealink offers two WiFi dongles (WF40 and WF50) at exorbitant prices.
I saw in an old, now closed discussion thread here, that it is possible to replace the WF50 with an alternative dongle.
Unfortunately, the link provided to Amazon Spain no longer works.
I also saw that Amazon US sells an alternative WF40 dongle, but none of the comments mention the USB identifiers for this device.
I have already tested several alternative dongles on a Yealink T48S phone, but none of them work.
So, if you have one that works on a Yealink phone, could you post a link to a website where it can be purchased, and better yet, the USB identifiers that this device reports on a computer?
Thanks

Are you aware that some yealink phones come with built-in wifi? We use those instead

FYI, here is the WF50 report (on a Mac) :

USBWLAN :

Identifiant du produit : 0x9378
Identifiant du fournisseur : 0x0cf3 (Atheros Communications, Inc.)
Version : 3.00
Numéro de série : 12345678
Vitesse : Jusqu’à 480 Mb/s
Fabricant : Qualcomm Atheros

It remains to be seen whether it is possible to find an alternative Wi-Fi dongle for it.

Office Depot has the dongle for $31.99, Ebay has a lot of them for various prices, MetrolineDirect has them refurbished for $19.95.

Hello,

I decided to purchase several types of USB Wi-Fi adapters on Aliexpress to test them, as they are very inexpensive.

Result of my tests:

• the one based on an MT7601 chip works perfectly with my Yealink device (USB WiFi Dongle ID 148f:7601 Mediatek 7601)
• the one based on a RTL8188 Chip doesn't work.
• most recent adapters (dual band) based on a RTL8811CU chipset doesn't work

FYI, here is the report on macOS of the "good" adapter for the Yealink phone, which costs ≈ €2 (alternative to the very expensive WF40) :

802.11 n WLAN :

Identifiant du produit : 0x7601
Identifiant du fournisseur : 0x148f
Version : 0.00
Numéro de série : 1.0
Vitesse : Jusqu’à 480 Mb/s
