Installing FS PBX on existing FusionPBX install?

I am currently migrating a small installation (30 DID, 5 tenants) from another PBX to FusionPBX, which I've used in the past and found very powerful as compared to other open source PBX's such as FreePBX and the like. I also like the FreeSWITCH platform much better than Asterisk.

I installed and started to configure FusionPBX before learning about FS PBX. Is it currently possible to install the current FS PBX with the latest FusionPBX already in place?

I quickly looked at the YouTube videos for the FS PBX project and see there are two videos about installation - one seems to guide you through FusionPBX install and then FS PBX, and the other is the newer, single command (integrated) install.

If it is possible, then if I were to install FS PBX on top of FusionPBX, should I follow along with the "old/outdated" video (since it seems to break up the FusionPBX and FS PBX install), or should I take the current single command installer and comment out the FusionPBX install bits? Or something else?

If possible, I'd like to have FusionPBX 5.3, which I understand is not the forked version currently used by FS PBX. Are there any breaking changes between the fork and FusionPBX master? I've read (I think on Reddit) that it should work, but since both projects are under active development, I wanted to see if this was still the case.

Thanks for any advice or assistance you can provide.

Hello, I missed this message. The short answer is to use the new script. But you can backup and restore your existing database after the install. This is the best approach for your scenario. There is no need to have FusionPBX 5.3. There is very little FusionPBX left in FS PBX. The version really doesn't matter anymore.

Hi pbxgeek,
I am also interested in this migration process, as I am new to fusionpbx could you please tell me how to backup the database from fusion and restore it on FSpbx.

The FSpbx will be a new server with a different IP address if that matters, also on the install of the fusionpbx I set in the install script so that the main system would be a FQDN and not an IP address.

Thanks.

Thanks for your answer! I'm going to try FS PBX on a new instance with some test DIDs and extensions and compare functionality.

We can do a Zoom call too, so I can show you around. The system has so much to offer, it's hard to describe in forum posts and a few videos that we have.
