Ring Group - when a user ignores it does not go to the RG Exit Action

Hey All,

I'm running FusionPBX and found that when a user ignores/rejects a call, it ends the call without going to the exit action. I believe this is a configuration error or even a misunderstanding on my part, but my goal would be to have a call hit the RG, and be able to be rejected by a user, continue to ring the RG, or if all users reject, go to the exit action.
Any help is very appreciated!

Thanks!

Show us your ring group settings so we can see what we are working with. It's likely a misconfiguration

Yea that'd probably be helpful huh? Sorry about that! Here is a screenshot. Let me know if there is a better way to provide settings.

Thanks for any help!

Based on experience, I'm guessing this is an inbound call that is directed straight to the ring group. Many carriers have a timeout on the allowed ring time. If your ring group timeout exceeds your provider's timeout, then you will not reach the ring group's call timeout and exit action.

This hits an IVR first, but either way, if the user rejects the call, it does not go to the exit destination, no matter how long or short the timeframe is.

What happens when the user rejects a call? Does the call get dropped instead of going to the exit destination?

1. How does the user 'reject' the call from the ring group? I don't see prompt or call screening enabled in the ring goup.
2. Is extension 5001 an extension on your system or an external number?
3. Can you try a different ring strategy, like "sequence," to see if it makes a difference?

When the user receives the call, they hit the decline button the soft phone(linphone). it returns a 603 decline
5001 is an extension on the system
All ring strategies perform the same. When there are multiple users in the group, it stops ringing other members and drops the call as well

I believe the 603 decline tells FusionPBX to disconnect the ring group bridge. Linphone should send a 486 (busy), then the ring group would not disconnect. Alternatively, with the Enterprise strategy, each extension has its own thread, so a 603 on one ring group thread will not affect the others in the group.
Another option is to ignore somehow the 603 release cause for that specific extension or ring group. In extensions, it could be the dial string field in advanced settings. Try to set it to {bridge_ignore_release causes=603}
